Onyx Venus BIOS Update

The BIOS and Embedded Controller (EC) firmware files provided on this page are manufacturer-supplied Onyx firmware intended for specific Onyx Venus systems.
Firmware updates are inherently high-risk operations. A failed or interrupted BIOS/EC update can render a system temporarily or permanently non-functional and may require specialist hardware recovery or replacement components.
By proceeding, you acknowledge and agree that:
- You are responsible for ensuring that the correct firmware, files and procedures are used for your specific Onyx system.
- Updates must be performed only by a suitably trained and competent technician and strictly in accordance with the supplied instructions.
- BIOS and EC updates must be performed separately and in the prescribed sequence. Do not deploy both updates to the same system simultaneously.
- If using Onyx Orion, only one CPK update should be assigned to a system at a time. Onyx has confirmed that Orion cannot guarantee the order in which multiple CPK files are processed.
- Systems must not be powered off, restarted or otherwise interrupted while a firmware update is in progress unless specifically instructed by the supplied procedure.
- Remote/Orion deployment carries additional risks compared with physical USB deployment, including the possibility of an interrupted or failed update.
- The USB deployment utility provided by Parity Medical is an assistive tool developed by Parity Medical for deploying manufacturer-supplied firmware. It does not remove the inherent risks associated with firmware updates.
- Onyx considers failures resulting from non-compliant deployment procedures to be outside its standard warranty coverage.
- Parity Medical cannot guarantee recovery of a system following a failed firmware update. BIOS recovery may require specialist equipment, direct BIOS reprogramming, replacement BIOS ICs, or—where recovery is unsuccessful—further hardware repair.
Repair and recovery
Any system requiring BIOS recovery as a result of an incorrectly performed or non-compliant firmware update may be subject to chargeable repair.
This includes systems where the update has failed as a result of an incorrectly deployed BIOS or EC update, or where an update has been attempted using Onyx Orion and the resulting failure requires intervention by Parity Medical.
Where applicable, charges may include inspection and diagnostic fees, engineering labour, replacement components, BIOS recovery, and collection/return courier costs.
Parity Medical strongly recommends that customers ensure they have an appropriate recovery strategy before commencing any firmware deployment.
