Saving Space In Theatres

We’re often approached by hospitals who are looking for options of how to make efficient use of space in their Operating Theatres.

Working with partners such as EIZO, we’re able to deliver state-of-the-art solutions for Theatre teams. Recently, we completed a new installation of an in-wall, dual-screen Surgical Panel at Wythenshawe Hospital’s Operating Theatre. This was done as part of a refurbishment – replacing older PCs and monitors that were installed using multiple wall mounts.

We completed the installation quickly to minimise downtime for the hospital. This was done while the Theatre was already closed for their refurbishment, to avoid any unnecessary extra measures.

A built-in and fully sealed EIZO CuratOR Surgical Panel workstation can save space in Theatres.

The new in-wall surgical panel has massively reduced the space taken up by IT equipment. Staff are now able to enter patient data and access the hospital’s information system using the mounted keyboard and mouse shelves – featuring a fully sealed keyboard and mouse for infection control.

“The units were also designed so if any parts fail during their lifetime they can be replaced on a component basis and replacement components can be exchanged without removing the units from the wall.”

The 49” and 24” integrated screens allow surgeons to clearly view a range of medical images during surgery and help to maintain the high levels of infection control needed as they can be easily operated with gloves. Nurses are also able to clean and disinfect much more quickly than before as the whole unit is fully sealed.
