How patient groups helped develop a patient led engagement system

Clatterbridge Cancer Centre involved patient participation groups when developing a system that was in the best interests of patients. Parity joined Clatterbridge at patient participation groups where we demonstrated the system to a group which consisted of staff at various levels and patients. It was really important for patients to be involved so they could see what was important for them and ask the right questions. Patients were able to ask about the remote controls, the hygiene of them and Parity could show the infection prevention and control covers available. Patients were able to see the size of the screens, remotes and size of the buttons. We were also able to provide a phased approach which was required for Clatterbridge’s roll-out plans.
